On the face of it, today's synoptic charts for Britain and Ireland show an unsettled picture with low pressure close to the northwest of Britain and its associated weather fronts crossing all areas today. However, these fronts are pretty weak and are bringing mainly cloudy skies and only patchy outbreaks of rain with them, although the odd heavier burst cannot be ruled out.
