Showers Becoming Widespread

A large and deep area of low pressure is sat to the west of Ireland today, feeding in an unstable south/south-westerly air stream. These winds are strongest out towards the west, and this is where most of the showers can be found this morning. These showers will become more widespread as we go through today, turning heavy and thundery at times, so some places will end up on the wet side. For many central and eastern areas it is a fine and sunny start to the day but the cloud will soon bubble up ...
