It is something of an east-west split again today with many eastern counties on the cloudy side whilst western areas enjoy the best of the sunny spells that are on offer. Much of Britain and Ireland lie under a slack flow with light winds in many areas, mainly from a northerly quarter, although the winds are somewhat stronger out towards the east coast of England.
