It is a thoroughly miserable start to the weekend for many parts with heavy rain sweeping eastwards followed by heavy showers, so very few, if any, places will escape the rain today. The culprit is a deepening area of low pressure that is slowly drifting across northern Britain and this will keep the very unsettled theme going for a few days yet.
